Location: Russia, Central Asia

Task: Development of a communications strategy / image-building strategy for the Company (2003–2005); coverage of the Russian gas market development; communications support for Gazprom’s gas purchase business in Central Asia, including both local publicity efforts and interaction with public authorities to induce them to accept Gazprom’s activities as a reasonable solution.

Action: M&P developed a communications strategy for each country (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan). Supported all of Gazprom’s projects in Central Asia. Held a series of expert meetings and round tables to collect information from the existing limited circle of experts and developed their concept. Held a media campaign to substantiate the Company’s business strategy in Central Asia; arranged a series of events. Built an efficient monitoring system.

Results: The tasks of the campaign were accomplished successfully. Gazprom’s Central Asian projects were accepted as a feasible strategy in the Russian media field.
