Illusion Ball at Musical Olympus Festival

An annual ball was held in St Petersburg on May 29 under the umbrella of the 15^th Musical Olympus International Festival.

It’s been the second successive year that Mikhailov & Partners Strategic Communications Management cooperates with the Musical Olympus Foundation and provides organisational assistance to its annual ball, an exciting and memorable event for the festival’s guests and participants.

This year, M&P held the ball in the grand building of the Presidential Library. “Illusion” was the theme that dominated the design and the script; arriving guests passed through a wall of fire and entered a photo exhibition themed around Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel The Master and Margarita and featuring actress Isabelle Adjani. The walls of the ball room changed shape now and then, turning into a waterfall, or bursting into flames, or becoming covered with swarms of butterflies.

The event was attended by Russian officials and business people and a great number of foreign guests.

The 15^th edition of the Musical Olympus took place in St Petersburg between May 25 and June 2 and presented 30 musicians from 14 countries in some of the city’s best venues: the Hermitage Theatre, the Capella, and the Grand Philharmonic Hall.

The Musical Olympus International Festival has been held annually since 1996. Its concerts present singers, pianists, string, wind and percussion players, composers and conductors who have excelled at major classical music contests, such as the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, the ARD in Munich, the Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens, the Sibelius Competition in Helsinki, the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich, the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition in London, and many other events.
